Once winner of 'Most Beautiful Pub in London' the Princess Louise has a truly amazing interior, untouched from its days as a Victorian gin den. It's all hidden nooks, carved wood and ornate cornices, but badly in need of sprucing up. Even better than the interior though is the beer.

This is a Sam Smith's pub and that means cheap beer even though you are right in the heart of London. This place is in virtually every tourist guide as an 'authentic London pub' so most of the drinkers are bumbag-wearing tourists, but for a cheap, tasty pint in comfortable surroundings, it's great.

The Princess underwent a refurbishment scheme in 2008, but fortunately, good old Sam Smiths know how to do a good job. So, she's back, glammer than ever. One of the best pubs in London.
