The former Fly bar on New Oxford Street, The Bowery has already picked up where it's former incarnation has left off with a hectic and often left-field line up of comedy, live music and DJ events.

Loosely themed on those effortlessly swish ex-warehouses turned bars that you find on Manhattan's Lower East Side, the upstairs boasts a very chilled and laid-back bar area that makes for an ideal pit-stop after a few hours of being dragged around Covent Garden by the missus.

However, it's downstairs where the real action happens, with a cosy little live room that is perfect for a spot of sweaty fun. In previous guises we've always thought that shows down there sort of feel like intimate warehouse parties, and we can happily report that the new owners have kept the vibe going.

With the closure of the Astoria and the Blow Up Club, this part of town has been crying out for a venue like this. Oxford Street just got its cool back.
