While the Boston Arms looks rather grand from the outside, indoors is rather more humble. But what it lacks in decor, this pub makes up for in character. This is a great place to watch Arsenal play, with a very partisan crowd.

The punters are generally mad for televised sport, and playing pool and darts in between fixtures. On Fridays the locals let their guard down for an emotional evening of karaoke and on Saturdays a mobile disco moves in. A cheap, cheerful North London local, with a great atmosphere on busy nights or match days.

Or if that's not to your taste, just pop next door into the Music Rooms to see a band playing most nights, and Friday is the Dirty Water Club, with three or four bands for your delectation.
