Something of a schizophrenic place, The Old Queen's Head as The Gaff was formerly known began as a rock pub, before slipping into infamy as a Arsenal heavy football boozer. But with a recent refurb and a new name it has swerved back into music territory.

With a skew towards metal, rock and punk, The Gaff attracts Holloway's alternative types like a moth-lamp, so is probably best avoided if you think the last Scooter album was the best thing since brown bread. It does have a really, really late license though, which is worth remembering if you're in North London at 4AM and have found yourself at a loose end.
