Carl Freedman is arguably one of the most important and influential figures of the YBA movement of the early 90s. Friends with Hirst, Emin et al, he helped curate the exhibitions that would later launch the artists into super-stardom. He's had a regular post at The Guardian and sold prints by all the bad boys and girls to have come out of the scene.

So it only made sense that he established his own gallery. 2003 saw the opening of Counter Gallery; one of the capital's most talked about cultural events of the year. In 2007 he changed the name to Carl Freedman Gallery, presumably in recognition of the achievements he'd knocked up over the past twenty five years.

No need to state the obvious, but the gallery shows very high quality contemporary works, changing exhibition about seven times a year.
