Walking down Rivington Street, where even the cobbles are trendy and the music spilling out of other pubs veers between ironically cool indie retro and the gibberish side of electronica, it is something of a surprise to find this huge, brightly-coloured comedy club, the biggest purpose-built laughter venue in London.
Run by Noel Faulkner since 1990, it's played host to the likes of Harry Hill, Lee Mack, Tim Vine and Daniel Kitson over the years and has one of the most popular new act nights in London every Wednesday.
Wth a capacity for 200 people, an in-house menu and late bar, the slick set-up means it's one of the most popular comedy clubs in East London and regularly sells out.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays the doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 9pm. The bar is open until midnight.
On Fridays doors open at 6pm and there is an early show, which starts at 8pm. The comedy finishes at 10pm and the bar is open until 11pm.
On Saturdays doors open at 6.45pm. The show starts at 8:30pm and finishes around 11:15pm, bar & music until midnight.
