Plastic People originally started out life on Oxford street when owner Ade Fakile went to his favourite club, Fish, to find it closed. Once he'd parted with his comprehensive jazz record collection to fund it (now THAT's dedication), he reopened under the Plastic People moniker and was the original home of Erol Alkan's seminal night Trash.
When Ade was given his marching orders once the site was earmarked for office conversion he moved the club East to it's current Curtain Road site. There he created a minimalist masterpiece. It's like clubbing distilled to it's bare essence and has become a cult classic. Essentially just a small basement rectangle with one very dark end containing a perfectly placed, perfectly balanced, Funktion One sound system that creates one of the best sounds of any club in London regardless of size.

This Shoreditch basement is, in my opinion, the best small club in London. The dance floor is dark, compact and intimate and the DJs are always first rate. Check Warm's monthly residency here for some top parties.
