Pleasantly ramshackle Hoxton pub that has been snapped up by the team who own 333 and Mother Bar, and provides another quirky locale for musical appreciation and responsible drinking.
The Red Lion has had a makeover, but not an offensive pine furniture and chrome taps job. More like, they mopped some of the crustiest stains off the floor and got in a job lot of second hand furniture. The place is comfortable and relaxing and DJs play conscious hip hop, soul and funk every night.
There’s nothing brash or euphoric about this charming boozer, but the music is superb and service is friendly and relaxing. Soul fans will never want to leave.
