Rivington Place

Rivington Place, Hoxton and Shoreditch, EC2A 3BA
Tel: 0207 749 1240

Opened in October 2007, Rivington Place is the first publicly funded new-build arts space to be built since the Hayward in 1968. Housed in a spectacular David Adjaye-designed building and incorporating two large exhibition spaces, a fantastic visual arts library and workshops for local creative businesses, it is a great example of public money put to good use.

A public archive of post-war photography is due to open by 2010 under the snappy name,'The Archive and Research Centre for Culturally Diverse Photography'. Very Noughties, very New Labour, but no doubt it will prove to be a valuable historical resource in the future. Exhibitions take on an international angle, reflecting the multicultural values represented by the gallery .
