The gallery regularly hosts exhibitions of interesting contemporary art, usually that from the younger generation, but its most admirable feature is the education programme. Working with local youth clubs and schools, artists guide children and teenagers through the processes of creating art. Almost all mediums are catered for, from painting and ceramics to etchings and photography. Standpoint is a much loved local community arts centre and great little exhibition space, the likes of the capital could do with more of.
