This pub seems to attract scorn from the aficionado but affection from local boozers, especially young ones, who appreciate its simplistic style.

In an area with so many popular bars and pubs its worth knowing that some places are less likely to be full and less likely to impose a noisy karaoke or wet T-shirt contest on you while you just want to quietly tuck into a pint of 'old bores hump'. You won't find these things at the Steam Passage. Let us be thankful.
