Local artists adorn the walls of this cafe under St Mary's Islington. The art shows are secondary to the beauty of the crypt which served as a shelter during the Blitz and contains some wonderfully ornate carvings.
Dating back to 1483, the church has a proud evangelical history so watch out for earnest vicars wanting to chat about God. It is a lovely spot for a cup of tea or fair trade coffee though, and there's a well attended talent night, Alive, on the final Thursday of the month.
