Lively, youthful pub in a prime location on Upper Street with good DJs organised by the management at weekends and a fantastic open night mic on Sunday to chase away the Monday blues. Last time we visited folk legend Frank Turner was the special guest - this corner of North London means the open mic often attracts fantastic musicians winding down from the weekend.

The Mitre is also a good place to watch the football with huge plasma screens, but we can't recommend it for pool as the one table is winner stays on and the locals have been practising.
