A relatively unpretentious pub halfway down Upper Street, The Vineyard, previously called The Garden was 'rescued' from Wetherspoons by the equally-minded Smith & Jones chain, who have at least spruced the place up a bit.
The large beer garden is something of a boon, were it not for the herd of smokers spat out by the smoking ban, and the toilets are best avoided unless you are on the verge of urological disaster, but for footie, pub grub and lager you could do a lot worse.
