Eccentric collective turned community centre, the Diorama used to be a place for anti establishment punks and new wavers to create art and stage plays for their counter cultural audience. Several forced relocations and rather a lot of government funding later, and diorama hs become a community project - open rather than threatening, with a massive programme of educational workshops and friendly staff always on hand with a cuppa.
If you fancy checking out a play here, it’s likely to be enthusiastic, amateurish and sparsely attended - but none the worse for that. An atmospheric and welcoming local venue.
