Claims of a beer patio turn out to be a small square of concrete with picnic tables next to the bins, but this is somewhat redeemed by the traditional pub decor and the friendly staff and clientele. Although it is dominated by locals and regulars, it is rarely too busy or too empty, and with a handful of real ales at reasonable prices and football on TV, you could do worse than this for a drink before a gig or on your way out. Clean, spacious, comfortable, but nothing out of the ordinary - they do give a 50% discount to nurses though.
