Takes you back to New York and the days of 1930s America. The art deco theme is tinged with Japanese chic, giving a very cosmopolitan vibe to the place. The long bar upstairs combines nice retro decor with a hint of sleazy ambiance. Downstairs there is a black walled, basic room with a large dance floor and a DJ cage surrounded by fairy lights. Regulars or private parties can stick their iPods on for a blast.
Positively serves Japanese food and cocktails that recall the seedy bar culture of prohibition New York. The place can be hired exclusively for private parties, and has proved a hit recently with celebrities needing an injection of cool, including Travis and Sophie Ellis Bexter.
Positively is popular with well heeled young locals and with pre-clubbers treating themselves to a swish night out. The place looks lovely without being over priced, they have a nice music policy, friendly attitude and very good drinks menu... but you make the fun.
