A well worn and consistently popular fixture on London’s live music scene, the Spice of Life has been serving up live music and alcohol (our favourite combination) to the West End of London since the 19060s. The place has live music every night in the basement and a roomy upstairs bar for warming up before the gig.

Expect a mixed crowd of tourists, young fans of the band and hoary jazz and blues veterans. With open mic nights and several different promoters working here, there are all kinds of music but Tuesdays and Wednesdays are reliably jazzy while the weekend sees fresh new bands from the Up All Night crew, and a properly drunken Sunday session packed with fresh faced indie kids.

A great boozer by day and a jumping basement venue by night, the Spice of Life is a deserving favourite of many music junkies.
