For decades the London dungeon has remained virtually unchanged, delighting generations of children with a winning combination of cherry-picked history and lashings of gore. The audio tour of Jack the Ripper's London and the grisly waxworks of various torture and plague victims remain, but they have just introduced two fairground rides, boosting the experience beyond its already terrifying heights.
Visitors can take a Boat Ride to Hell, or a Drop Ride to Doom. Both rides apparently involve plunging around in the dark and should make a satisfying addition to the thrills already offered.
A thoroughly ghoulish and frightening potted history of our city, this is our top recommendation for horrible-history-loving young children. They will love it.
