Colnaghi Gallery is one of the oldest in Europe, and on setting foot inside, one is in no doubt of the claim. Beautiful high ceilings and a glass roof serve to accentuate the majesty of the collection, one comprised mainly of 15th to 19th century Old Masters paintings and drawings.
The gallery is open to students, visitors and, of course, collectors. The library is one of the capital's most comprehensive in its field, covering all aspects of western art from the renaissance period to the beginning of the 20th Century. Although it could hardly be called an institution, it is a magnificent place and one that deserves an annual visit.
