Handel House Museum

25 Brook Street, Mayfair , W1K 4HB

Faithfully restored to its early Georgian interior, the museum was the original home of baroque composer George Frederic Handel from 1723 until his death in 1759. Within these walls, Handel composed such historically significant pieces as Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Music for the Royal Fireworks.

The space now is used as a memorial museum with reconstructed rooms, also as an exhibition area and performance space for live music. Every Thursday evening and regularly on the weekends there's a range of recitals, which usually sell out quickly.

Quick Fact: On the upper floors of the next door residence, rock legend Jimi Hendrix lived from 1968-9.
