The affectionately cosy Moonbow Jakes is like the Deux Maggots of London; a bohemian art hang out on a small scale, playing home to musicians, poets, painters, sculptors, photographers and writers.

The aim is to provide a space where the public can interact with the artists and the artists can connect with the audience (though I suspect this is more a euphemism for admitting the indoor space is rather small). That said there's seating out the front and at the rear for more.

They've got a global conscience too, serving Fair Trade coffee, using as little packaging as possible, donating to community charities and helping orphans in Calcutta.
