Founded in 2002, Beverley Knowles is the only art gallery in the country that specialises in contemporary British female artists. Whether or not such a strategy is the best way to even out the current gender inequality of the art establishment, this is definitely worth a visit.

Featuring works in a broad variety of media - from drawing to film and from painting to photography - there is bound to be something of interest for all tastes. And their prices seem very reasonable too.
