Intimate & cool, wide range of good live music - one of the last few decent clubs in West London

Super club, I went to see a great live show, and just I happened upon a night where the best b-boys in London were having a night out in between competitions. After the and was finished, great hip-hop tunes were blaring in the side room, and they couldn't resist, so I was shown a great show, free of charge!
I was told that its the club that Lily Allen had her big break at....that is if you don't count myspace as giving you a big break.
Great times, groovy club, and totally good vibe.

I love this place. It's always got a great atmosphere, especially for a west London venue. Some of their night like Sweet Memory Sound and YoYo are among the best in London.

Sometimes I wished it stayed open a little later, but I guess that's just a testament to how much fun it is.

I grew up with this club and it is always a warm and friendly place to duck away from the noise of the street. Good for a big night out or a quick drink on the way home. Look out for occasional intimate gigs from top end artists. Also the home of the incredible DJ Derrick.

This place has really gone down in reputation.
The biggest complaint I have is the aggressive bouncers who when night ends start to literally push people out. One of them even pushed my girlfriend so hard she nearly fell over the stairs. Then he went on to have a fight with me for defending her, calling me names.

ALSO - Please bear in mind to take your ID as they scan your id and store your details on the computer. This is in case a bouncer attacks a female.

BTW, their security room (PC) is literally at the door as are all your private details.

Other reasons why you shouldn't go there: CHAV DJs and crap music.

NOTE: Not referring to live bands, they are great.

Notting hill arts club is anything but arty. For cool places go east or go ginglik.
