Perennially popular after work pub with a really dingy interior complete with retro bar towels, unhealthy crisps and a great selection of real ale, the Coach and Horses is also cheap.
In summer the tables outside are a joy as you can watch the crowds milling about Covent Garden, but you have to be quick or ruthless to get one.
There's an upstairs function room which hosts comedy every Tuesday, but this place is rammed every night with people who've forgotten their obligations at home.
