Do you believe you are destined to burn water for the rest of your life? Instead of buying take out every night or inviting yourself over to friends for dinner, join one of the informal and fun classes and actually learn how to provide for yourself.

The classes at the cookery school have a maximum of 20 students, ensuring you both space and one-on-one time with the teacher. Every session involves tasting so you'll leave with not only a handful of new cooking skills but a full stomach.

Relying on fresh ideas for recipes, you can attend several classes and never cook the same meal.

I recently attended the muffin course at this school and unfortunately I was very disappointed.

The ingredients measured out for us before we arrived were incorrectly measured leading to some mixtures being too wet and others being far too dry. No real guidance was given on what the correct measurements should be. I thought this was inexcusable as we were told by the lady running the class that the secret to good muffins was to be very precise with the measurements. We were told that we did not need sugar in the fruit muffins which meant, in my opinion, they were far too bland.

Finally, the muffins did not last. We all took home a selection of nine which we finished baking after 9pm. I took them into work the next day and they were inedible. When I was complained I was told that muffins do not last – I appreciate that they might not last for weeks or even days but I thought 24 hours would be reasonable.

Overall, very disappointing and far too expensive.

I took a sauces class at Cookery School at had an absolutely brilliant evening with a great bunch of people (chefs and keen cooks like me). We made 12 different recipes, working in groups and on our own we made a variety of savoury and sweet; from putanesca, to hollandaise, to green salsa, to chocolate sauce.

The ingredients is top notch and they are hot on sustainability. I highly recommend!

I attended a fantastic Middle Eastern class with my family on Saturday at the Cookery School. The food was absolutely divine and cooked to perfection; we were thoroughly informed by our class tutor how every dish was to be made and given expertise skills to make our 11-recipe feast a masterpiece! We had a wonderful member of staff that efficiently tidied our work stations and cooking equipment, (if only our own kitchens could have such a joy.) I would most certainly recommend Cookery School to everybody. The experience was truly memorable.

The beginner's course at Cookery School on Little Portland Street comes very highly recommended (my wife would definitely agree!) There is lots of hands on cooking so we could all practice what we were learning under the guidance of the great team at Cookery School. Brilliant recipes, very inspiring and lots of tasting made it great fun. I'll be back for the Intermediate course...

I recently took the intermediate course at Cookery School, a fantastic six week evening course (one evening per week) that really sets you up with the confidence and skills that I wanted to cook more at home, entertain friends and cook for events outside of my home. The course covers a different topic each week so you are thrown into learning the principles and recipes as well as picking up fantastic tips each week! I am now considering doing their advanced course in 2013... A big thank you to all the staff.
