The last time this humble reviewer attempted to visit Mayfair's exclusive Embassy, she found her way blocked by none other than Venus Williams' security team. Turns out she had just won Wimbledon and was celebrating.

And that's exactly what one should expect from this six year old venue in London's clubbing heartland. Chic and sophisticated enough to consistently pull in famous big spenders and fight off scantily clad Donatella Versace imitations, Embassy has been a staple for the weekend troupe since its inception in 2001.

Although most nights are DJ run affairs the club does occasionally host secret live gigs for those in the know and industry insiders. Word on the grapevine has it they're some of the most rocking in town.
