Following an inclination that obviously comes naturally to gallery directors, Flowers is very much of the “London / New York” type. If they sell enough works this summer, maybe they’ll be able to justify a Paris branch.

Cheap jibes aside however, Flowers’ central gallery, which shares a catalogue with its edgy Hoxton sister of the same name, is interesting and varies enormously in terms of content. They represent all aspects of the visual art community, ranging from the cartoonist Glen Baxter to installation artists. Never is a show at Flowers likely to be boring; now that’s quite refreshing.
