Founded in Tunisia in 2004 by literature teacher Essia Hamdi and French sculptor Armand, Le Violon Bleu (the name and logo are a tribute to Yves Klein) works with established artists from all over the world.
In 2006, Le Violon opened a gallery in Maddox Street, with a similar emphasis on recognised contemporary artists. Exhibitions last around six week to two months and vary from solo shows to thematic group exhibitions.
