A lovely Renaissance style interior with wood paneling and a gold leaf ceiling create a sense of bygone luxury at this medium sized West End venue, which is comparatively recent having been built in 1888.

The Harold Pinter Theatre, formerly Comedy Theatre, was initially a light-hearted music hall and a stage for farces, in line with its name, but in later years became associated with serious British writing, with 800 seats about right for a sell out crowd for a few months of Harold Pinter. (He saw five of his plays produced here in the 20th century.) The theatre reverted to type with a massive run for the Rocky Horror Show but is now associated with short running but acclaimed new dramas. The comfort of the auditorium and the classic stage set up make this an authentic theatre experience.
