Real ale pub in leafy Richmond which comes alive every Sunday with a cracking comedy night in the upstairs room.

The rest of the time it is a perfectly serviceable pub with dodgy food, great draught beer and real ales, and a cantankerous crowd of locals who complain constantly about people coming in to see the comedy, the state of the pipes, the way of the world, etc.

There's a beautiful garden out back and for comedy or an afternoon's sunshine The Brittania is a good bet.
