In Central East London lies the much underrated Southwark Park.Designed by Alexander McKenzie, the same talent behind Finsbury Park, it opened in 1869 and offers a range of activities to invigorate the senses.
Providing loads of open space, it is perfect for sports, but if that's not for you then it has a range of facilities such as a cafe, art gallery, bandstand (what park is ever truly complete without one?) as well as a boating lake.
Southwark Park also has the delight of having more unusual events, such as Carnivals, Exhibitions and theatrical performances- a must-see!
