Shepherds Bush Empire

Shepherds Bush Green, Shepherds Bush, W12 8TT
Tel: 020 8354 3300

Since 1992, The Empire on Shepherds Bush Green has played host to the cream of live music, with the likes of the Rolling Stones, Radiohead and Kylie Minogue all performing at this 2000-capacity venue.

Built in 1903, the Empire gained prominence as a music-hall venue until it was taken over by the BBC in 1953 and transformed into a Television Centre.

Following 39 years of occupancy by Auntie, and hosting hundreds of shows such as Wogan, Hancock’s Half Hour and The Old Grey Whistle Test, it was sold in and renovated, becoming one of London's finest live music spaces.

Nice intimate Theatre style layout and good sound

I was lucky enough to see Australian band The Waifs at Shepherds Bush Empire early in the summer and fell in love with the venue. It's small enough to create an intimate setting for any concert but not so tiny that it feels overcrowded for the popular events. Like The Fillmore in San Francisco, She Bu will continue to bring in the big names due to its reputation. I'm looking forward to seeing another show here and there is a really stellar lineup for the next few months so be sure to keep an eye out for what's coming up at Shepherds Bush Empire.
