A modest looking theatre with a narrow façade on Shaftesbury Avenue, the Lyric is in fact the oldest theatre on that famous row and turns out to be a lot larger inside with seats for just short of a thousand visitors.
Built with the profits of hit Dorothy by Cellier and Stephenson, the Lyric turned into a hitmaking venue and has had some incredible long runs including Alan Ayckbourne’s How The Other Half Loves and the Louis Jordan musical Five Guys Named Moe.
An extremely comfortable and well laid out theatre, fully refurbished in 1998.
