Very large and comparatively modern theatre in the heart of the West End built in the 1930s. The venue was a cinema for a time and has benefited from a restoration in the 70s which included the installation of wide, comfortable seats.
When it re-opened as a theatre it was to host the world premiere of Evita and as part of the Delfont Mackintosh chain it has consistently hosted big budget spectaculars, for instance the current run of Mary Poppins.
