The John Snow always seems to fancy itself a bit, but the Red Lion has no such sense of its own importance. It's small and dark and there's a dartboard. The bit upstairs is a bit grim, but the beer's really cheap and the folk range from scruffy young students to grizzled veterans of the sauce.
