Tucked away from the usual tourist pathways at St Thomas' Hospital at Waterloo, The Florence Nightingale Museum is made up of a life-size construction of a scene from the Crimean war.
Illustrating the life of the heroine known as 'The Lady with the Lamp', the permanent exhibition consists of her collected personal possessions, authentic-to-the-day costumes, period rooms and an audio-visual centre.
Plus: if you allow the museum to claim your admission fee as a gift aid, you get to visit them again within the same year free.
