Blinking lovely but exorbitantly priced aquarium near the London Eye on the South Bank. This is the ultimate place to take a daytime date, with beautiful displays including over 750 types of fish, some big sharks, and friendly stingrays that you can stroke, but be prepared to spend more than a tenner each unless you are a student blagger. And that’s before you pick up your seahorse fridge magnets.
The tanks are massive, and some of the sharks are impressively big, but the real fascination in this underwater world is in the details. For the hardcore ichthyophile, it’s hard to remain unmoved when you get a really close look at tropical fish cleaning each other or dancing balletically in their heated glass penthouses.
Sadly, it is in need of a little work - if you're expecting an aquarium of the quality seen in adverts for Floridan holidays, you'll be disappointed. It's the living exhibits that make the place a beautiful spot; if you haven’t been then add it to the list.
