The British Film Industry: was it ever really that good, or are we Brits just imagining some fictional Golden Age where the world looked to us for inspiration like some moving image version of the good old Empire?
Well, it's hard to say. But The London Film Museum (previously the awfully nameed Movieum) aims to put the argument for a more serious recognition of the contributions made by the British Film Industry.
Brought to life by 'Weird & Wonderful', the people behind that big Star Wars thing at County Hall in 2007, The Movieum is a riot: covering the history of Pinewood and Elstree Studios, through to individual departments like Animatronics and Make Up, with real props, behind the scenes footage, and interactive displays, this is a fun and informative new venture. In fact, it's kind of odd that nobody thought of this before.
