First opened in 1992 in south east London, Purdy Hicks generally focuses on contemporary painting from a broad range of international artists. Their artists are all pretty well established and exhibitions here are highly consistent.

In 1995 Purdy Hicks relocated to its current location in a 3000 square foot former Victorian warehouse near to Tate Modern. Exhibitions here generally last around one month.
