A massive, beautiful cathedral in the heart of the business district. Less than a hundred people live in this parish but Southwark is very much an active church, administering to the spiritual needs of thousands of city workers, and on Sundays the presence of bishops and archbishops in the pulpits encourages worshipers to travel from all over the south east.
Well worth visiting for a walk around, Southwark is also a fantastic concert venue, those massive Gothic arches are built for acoustics and the crowds flocking along the river towards the floodlit, heavily buttressed church build a sense of occasion before you even arrive.

There isn't a ton to say about the Southwark Cathedral but it's worth a walk through if you happen to be in the area. They've recently done some renovations and left a viewing platform that looks down through the foundations to a Roman road over 1000 years old that runs below.
