Hallowed ground for luvvies and theatre fans alike, the Old Vic is synonymous with high quality British drama.

Built in 1818 this is one of the oldest theatres in London but it has been ravaged more than once by fire (and was bombed hard in the Blitz) and thanks to constant refurbishment is now a place that combines wonderful old world style with great comfort, acoustics and productions values.

Kevin Spacey is the current Artistic Director, the most famous live in luvvie since Lawrence Olivier who ran the Royal Shakespeare Company here in the 60s and 70s. Spacey seems to relish the challenge of living up to Larry and indeed his stewardship has seen some quite brilliant productions, not all of them featuring his smug chops.
