This historic pub has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and installed a fancy new wine list and an ethically sourced menu, complete with line caught fish, and an all-continental wine list to save on air miles.
General knowledge hounds from the media offices surrounding will be sad to say goodbye to the quiz, but the only people who will miss the jazz nights are the musicians who got a chance to do their noodling while we were trying to drink.
The food, apparently, is top drawer and the refurb is respectful, with Charlie Chaplin and his alcoholic dad still commemorated in the corner. Overall you have to say this is a nicer pub than it was before, with better beer.
