There's plenty of historic buildings in East London, but so far St George-in-the-East takes the biscuit.
One of the six Hawksmoor churches built by Act of Parliament between 1714 and 1729, this impressive neo-classical building was hit by a bomb in 1941 and by Bob Hoskins in his 1980 film The Long Good Friday.
It's also one of the most beautiful buildings in Stepney, which isn't saying much, but worth a gander at any rate.
