Heaven

Under the Arches, Strand, WC2N 6NG
Tel: 020 7930 2020

With the best layout of any nightclub in London and a history of brilliant nights - including Sasha and Digweed’s house music masterclass Bedrock and the iconic 90s rave night Megatripolis - Heaven holds a special place in the heart of any true raver. The club is predominantly gay, but straight friendly, and regularly draws capacity crowds thanks to a blinding music policy and the fact that the layout and vibe guarantee a good night.

With a main room that matches the biggest in London for intensity, plus a warren of chill out cafes, bongo rooms, and hidden enclaves of hard dance, Heaven is the ultimate club for a bit of a wander. The vibe is always very friendly, although the upfront sexuality can be intimidating. You can always make a new friend and it is comparatively easy to navigate back to your crew on the dancefloor.

An iconic and utterly brilliant Central London venue: If someone you like plays Heaven, don't miss out.

Reviews

Expecting an edgy (gay) crowd on the monday, I was disappointed by the predominantly straight, faux nu-ravers who turned out.
The Electro music on the top level was pumping, but barely anyone was on the dance floor.
The main room played the standard club tracks, with a few house classics thrown in for good measure. Although there were loads of shirtless men dancing around accompanied by their harem of girls, and the music was worth dancing to, but there wasn't a hedonistic, wild vibe that HEAVEN's reputation has carved out. It's as if the club has been diluted to accommodate a more moderate crowd.
It's great to be able to club on a monday night - irrespective of work/ school and all the other adult responsibilities that dull our lives - but if you're looking for a debaucherous time, then this is not the place. If you do, however, want to drink and dance until 6am on a week night - then HEAVEN will give you great beats and alcohol until the wee hours of the morning.

I've never been to Heaven during the week and I've heard a few mixed reports but I've had some amazing Saturday nights here and will continue to go back. You can get free entry wrist bands from the G-A-Y bar in Soho which helps make this a cheap night. Next time though, I'm avoiding the foam at all costs.
