This pub is a godsend to workers around Leicester Square faced with a selection of loud tourist traps, overpriced bistros where a thimble of Belgian beer costs a fiver, and massive sport pubs. The Round Table is pretty basic but charges reasonable prices for a pint. It also seems tourist proof: it just isn’t nice enough to take a photo of or savour the atmosphere in. But if you are out for a chat and two or ten pints, you could do a hell of a lot worse.

Upstairs there is an additional room which is the real secret of the place. On Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays it host a great comedy club, with rows of church chairs set up in front of an improvised stage. The rest of the week the upstairs room is usually deserted and the perfect place to camp with four or five mates for a session.
