Originally built with the proceeds from Gilbert and Sullivan's first shows, this magnificent theatre opened in 1881 adjacent to the Savoy Hotel. Ravaged by fire in 1990, the Savoy re-opened three years later, fully restored in all its Art Deco glory. It is a jaw dropping stage.
The Savoy favours traditional productions, often classic musicals, which sit well with its period interiors and old world charm and a night at the theatre here hasn't changed much over the centuries. This is a delightful theatre - and also very comfortable.
