The Island is the latest venture of club impresario Jeremy Millins and is an attempt to fuse Ibiza's upmarket club style with the underground, cutting edge vibe that makes London special.

So, how to blend cool and class? The Island's answer is to have a secretive location and an interior that fuses brushed chrome and leather couches with bare warehouse bricks and vinyl floors. The sound system is immense and they have some excellent monthly events.

The hidden entrance definitely adds a cool cache to the place, with punters having to duck down a tunnel in Charing Cross. Jetset hedonists have found a new home - and not a moment too soon, with swathes of the best clubs becoming luxury flats everywhere you look.

A great new addition to London's superclub scene. Oh, and the night bus service from Trafalgar Square will take you anywhere in town once you've picked up your coat and found your bearings. A big plus after eight hours giving it some on the dance floor.
