First opened as the ‘Drury Lane of the East’ in 1896, the Rex boasts a chequered history, serving as a theatre, cinema, bingo hall and 21 years as a derelict pigeon loft.

Fully restored in 1996, it is now a 2500 capacity multi-purpose venue, hosting concerts, live performances and a massive nightclub utilising its many rooms and passageways.

Well worth a visit, if only to enjoy clubbing or rocking out in a little piece of East End history.
