Once a standard London boozer somewhat rough around the edges, the team behind Jamm in Brixton have turned the White Lion into a DJ bar and live music venue, something of a Streatham rarity. Although refurbished and fitted with a big soundsystem, it hasn't been dolled up too enthusiastically and hasn't been been taken down the zinc-bar-and-cocktails route.

Music at the White Lion covers all sorts: underground house, jazz, hip hop, broken beat and other left-field sounds all rub shoulders on various nights of the week.
